POD 3 right hemicolectomy for ascending colon adenocarcinoma. Developing ileus: abdomen distended, tympanitic, absent bowel sounds. No signs of anastomotic leak (afebrile, lactate normal). KUB shows dilated loops without free air. Recommend NPO, NG tube decompression, aggressive electrolyte repletion.
